kid rock rocks

You all know the cool Kid Rock "Kiss My Anglo Saxon Ass" Dress from my collection. It's actually one of my bestsellers. The gold foil enhancement on the sunnies and the bling make it extra special and the positioning of the x-rated slogan (which by the way has been removed once for a customer, who said that she would rather not have that printed on her buttocks, and I complied as an exception) is so exiting!

Anyways, the dress is nearly sold out by now, I think I have 1 or 2 pieces in XS and S left, but that fact and the resulting useless promotion of it, did not keep me from showing you the promo images Kid Rock has recently published - They are HOT! Love the chicks in those cut-out gold lamé bathing suits.... and what about these afro's?!

It is so nice to see the rest of the image in retrospect! I always adored the pic of Kid and obviously many of my customers did also, but it rocks that the extension of the image is so incredible hot too!

Well, I thought Kid Rock rocked before, but now I think Kid Rock rocks even more!

Awww! It's the cutest thing I've seen in a while - The Lil' Wayne skirt! So cute. I had a constant chuckle going on while making this skirt and even before listing it for sale in the online shop I had to forward it to several of my friends, because I could no longer wait to share this adorable piece! Here's a preview for you:

...lil' wayne skirt coming soon to a shop near you, most likely in the hip hop clothing category...

mtvmusic.com

Music has always been an inspiration to me in my life (needless to say in my profession too) and the visuals of a song are almost as important as the music itself... You will be thrilled like me to find out that MTV has just launched a web site where you can watch just about any video ever made - yeah, ever made!

Check out this one! Video Killed The Radio Star, literally! One of the very first videos MTV played...

Sure go ahead, leave this site and have fun! MTV Music.

mine are prescription glasses

I am clueless how, out of the blue, there is a whole new generation of near sighted individuals, in NYC at least. And they do favor the old movie star 1950's type bold frame my dad was wearing until around after the time I was born. But do they all contain prescription lenses like mine? As I dared to mention there may be a new generation perhaps...? We should check the water supply from Upstate New York....

These are my new glasses with transition prescription lenses.

So yes, I have been wearing glasses since I can remember, really. Styles offered at the shops change with the seasons and trends. From the perspective of a fashion designer glasses can be a welcomed style element, permitted they are in fashion at the time, or they can pose a challenge when they are not necessarily. Well right now you better be nearsighted or you've got to fake it!

When the 80's come back, outrageous glasses are not far and so when the trend started a few years back, I think Kanye West brought that frame back to the masses. Kinda ridiculous if you ask me. But Kanye ALMOST gets away with it. Emphasis on the ALMOST.

But guys! It does NOT mean YOU should WEAR them on the street!! Yes they come in all shades of color but they do look ridiculous and they do not protect you from any harmful rays.... so let's stop this already!

Go to a great glasses shop like Selima Optique NY, who has several shops across town and features really cool one of a kinds and vintage frames that are really the thing to be wearing during this trend of larger frames, which I think IS cool.

So I just wanted to share my opinion and my new frames, which I will still be changing up with all my other frames, depending on what I will be wearing any given day.
And lucky me: I never threw away my dad's old original frame he was wearing in the 50's, (never get rid of quality frames!!!) so I am right on target with these too!

me in my dad's old frames from the 50's/60's

If you are still looking for some of these frames and are not the flea market, thrift stores browsing type, check out the 90 year old NY institution Moscot on 14th street in Manhattan, they got them all brand new!

hottest mc in tha game

Best Rock Star Alive, Best MC, Man Of The Year, you name it! Lil Wayne has been called it all. That's right! This talented, although worry some cough syrup mixed with Hawaiian punch instead of regular water favoring individual, is hot!! And he is not afraid to die. Oh, get over it! Which 25 year old is...?

When I first laid my ears on his rap I must have completely lost it because, every time after time it was played on the radio (and he's played a lot - still not enough for me - here on the East Coast), I turned up that volume and just could not believe my ears! The words come out of his mouth like I never heard it in my hip hop adoring years since the life altering appearance of Ice T's O.G. in the early 90's (Original Gangster, for the pitty'd one's who are ignorant) and later Body Count of course.

Ice-T's LP above and ja,me, a true Rock 'N' Roll Punk babe,
just around the time I discovered Rap (as we know it today) in 1991..? It was also probably when my
obsession with prints on clothing started...

...and here a few years later wearing yet another one of my favorite rappers.... Snoop Dog, in print!

There may have been only one other rapper (or maybe 2, no, there are more) who I've found untouchably striking in the same way which is ODB (Old Dirty Bastard, you uneducated MF's) and I love Method Man.

Now you got to go and hear for yourself 'cause there ain't no way for me to explain this voice, rap style and lyrics, without making a foul of myself (I tried to imitate :-0). But don't tell me later, I did not make you aware of this lil' (by no means little in talent) genius from New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

about IDILVICE

My photo
New York, NY, United States
Just like the rare Swiss mountain flower Edelweiss - a symbol of prestige and distinction - the clothing brand IDILVICE (pronouced "Edel-vice") was born in the mountains of Switzerland and since then it's flourishing on the concrete of Manhattan and recently even in the rolling hills of the San Francisco Bay Area. However as the spelling indicates, the label is not meant to be associated with too much folkloric alpine tradition, but rather and probably in the contrary, with unconventionality. The IDILVICE label was founded in 1995 by Swiss Native fashion designer Idil from the city of Saint Gallen, Switzerland, who's foundation dates back to the 7th Century and which became famous for their quality textile products, especially embroidery textiles, which are still popular with Parisian Haute Couture designers today. In search for something less traditional, Master Graphic Designer Idil ventured out to New York City where she fell in love with American Pop Culture.
